At 7:27 am, Limerick Fire Department was dispatched for an accident with injuries involving three vehicles on Swamp Pike. Rescue 51, Squad 51, and Fire Police responded as well as EMS and police units. The road was shut down between Kurtz Rd and Fruitville Rd. Crews arrived, found two cars involved, and assisted EMS before clearing debris from the heavily damaged vehicles. PECO was called to shut the electricity off from the pole hit by one of the cars. Crews and apparatus stayed until the tow trucks removed the vehicles before they were made available approximately forty-five minutes later.
