Limerick Fire Departments youth firefighter day camp 2023 is complete. What a great time was had by all. Mother Nature didn't put a damper on the cadets final day.
The cadets started their day with a group photo. Two apparatus had to be used for our backdrop.
Next all of the cadets broke out into groups, each visiting several different rescue scenarios.
Secondly, thanks to Firefighter Vince Russell for setting up our newest station, a sprinkler head system. Who thought we weren't going to get wet today. The cadets learned how to place wedges in a sprinkler head to slow the water flow.
Finally, the cadets viewed a fully involved vehicle fire. Engine 51 was utilized to demonstrate arrival on a scene, deploying the hoses and attacking and extinguishing a fully involved vehicle fire.
Sparky the fire dog joined the cadets for their pizza and certificates being given out.

2024 will be Limerick Fire Departments 10th annual firefighting day camp. We look forward to seeing most of you there.
