Members of the Limerick Fire Department Water Rescue Team participated with in a joint ice rescue training with the Upper Providence Township Department of Emergency Services Water Task Force. Other members of the Task Force to join in the training included Upper Providence Township Fire & Emergency Services, Phoenixville Fire Department - Friendship Fire Company Diving Rescue Unit, Trappe Fire Company, Skippack Fire Company and Royersford Friendship Ambulance. The Task Force team took advantage of the cold weather to hone and practice their skills. Although cold and low temperatures were present in the morning, it is important for emergency services personnel to train and be prepared for such emergency situations.
