On Saturday, February 1, Limerick Fire Department members and Upper Merion and Norristown members finished their Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Ice Rescue and Emergency Response class, which Keystone Water Rescue hosted. Crews were fortunate enough to have ice locally for the practical session, which was held in the Gilbertsville area. Students learned how to identify ice conditions, use ice rescue equipment, and practice shore, boat, and direct contact ice rescue techniques. Congratulations to Jeff Hood and Matt Huber on achieving the certification!
