For Monday night training, crews headed to the Western Montgomery Career & Technology Center for a truck company joint training with Perkiomen Fire Co. Both companies set up trucks for different training stations. Crews were split into groups and went to each station.
Aerial truck operations consisted of going over the equipment on the tower and ladder and climbing the mains of both aerials. Crews discussed roof work and commercial and residential roofing. Ladder work consisted of throwing ladders on the side of the building. Engine 51 and Engine 66 were set up for crews to practice pulling and packing hose lines. Limerick and Perkiomen Juniors trained on hydrant operations and were split into groups of three and timed on how fast and effectively they could establish a water supply.
The department was also dispatched for two calls during training: a gas odor and a reported building fire in Upper Providence. |
