Today, Limerick Fire Department (Station 51) welcomed 160 cadets to its 10th annual youth firefighter camp. Over 30 % are first time attendees. From a goal of 20 our inaugural year to now over 1200 cadets having attended the camp in its 10 years. What an impact!!!!!!!!!! Thank you from the Limerick Fire Department. Mondays events included outfitting the cadets with firefighting gear for this week’s events. Our cadets learned about the basic operations of the Ladder, Tower, Rescue, Squad, Engine, Special Service and Marine Units. Fire Police set up a memory game using equipment they would utilize at a fire scene. The teams then raced to set up the portable traffic signs.
A special thank you goes out to Trooper Butler from the Pennsylvania State Police Troop K. Trooper Butler demonstrated to the cadets his gear and equipment used throughout a typical day as a Trooper. Afterwards the cadets also got to tour his patrol car.
A second special thank you goes to Auto Rescue for attending. The cadets learned how to safely recover a vehicle and flip it over!!!!
