Day 2 of Limerick Fire Department youth firefighter camp was Water Day! The day started off with some high fives and energy boosts from Firefighter Mike Lynch while the Tanker crew spent their day offsite at Trinley Park learning about water rescue operations. Thank you to the members of the LFD water rescue team that were on location to assist at Trinley Park.
The Trappe Fire Company with Ladder 68-2 joined Ladder 51 in showing the cadets how to operate the aerial equipment. Skippack Ambulance provided instruction in CPR and Stop the Bleed training.
Tanker operations was provided by The Perkiomen Fire Department and the Limerick Township Fire Marshal's Office set up the mock 9-1-1 call center (Montgomery County 9-1-1)
Engine 51 and Squad 51 provided instruction on proper hose line operations and hydrant hookup. The cadets certainly felt the full force of the weight of the water as they sprayed the hoses.
Another successful day ended with some much appreciated water play from Ladder 68-2. |
