On January 26, the engine committee from the Limerick Fire Department travelled to Florida for the final inspection of the new Engine 51. The crew consisting of B. Andes, T. Walters, C. Beebe, S. Waldman, and B. Pursell, went to work first thing Monday morning performing the final inspection at E-ONE in Ocala, Florida. The final inspection process includes a thorough examination of the apparatus to ensure it meets all specifications and is ready for service. Any discrepancies or concerns were communicated and will be addressed prior to delivery. The committee will return on Tuesday and the new apparatus should arrive in Pennsylvania in the new several weeks. The current Engine 51, a 2010 KME will be leaving at the beginning of March for its new home at the New Columbus Fire Company in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania. |
