The final day of the Youth Firefighter Camp arrived and the Cadets were excited as ever to put the skills they learned to the test. The day had all the Cadets participating in a rescue drill and learning about fire safety in the smoke trailer. As part of the rescue drill the cadets assisted in extrication of a victim, packaging a patient for transport, established a landing zone, landed a helicopter and loaded a patient for flight. After the simulated incident the cadets got an overview of the PennStar helicopter from the crew. Limerick Fire Department would like to send a special thank you to the PennStar crew for today. After all of this fun activity it was time for PIZZA!!! The Cadets had a pizza party to celebrate the end of a fun filled week. During the party the groups were presented certificates and thanked all the volunteers who assisted during the day's events and throughout the week. Limerick Fire Department would like to thank the volunteer members from Collegeville Fire Company who assisted in today's activities. As well as a thank you to all the volunteer group leaders overseeing the Cadets all week. Finally, a thank you to all the members of the Limerick Fire Department whose assistance made this week of camp possible for the Cadets. See you next year and have a great summer.
