2025 Youth Firefighter Camp: Day 5

June 20: We wrapped up our final day of fire camp!
All of the kids rotated through different stations inside and outside of the firehouse.
Inside the training room, the kids learned about home fire safety, including preventing dryer fires, avoiding overloading electrical outlets, situational awareness at home and in hotels, looking out for escape routes, and kitchen safety.

June 19: We had another great morning with our Fire Camp kids!
The Cadet group participated in hands-on training to become certified in CPR/AED and first aid in the Limerick Station training room. Cadets learned how to perform child and adult CPR, use AEDs, choke, bandage, stop the bleed, and use tourniquets. The rest of the crews rotated through Rescue stations outside. Three Incidents on June 18
June 18
The Limerick Fire Department responded to three calls during the day on June 18. The first call occurred at 8:25 am for a fire alarm at ABC Supply on Jones Blvd. The second call was dispatched at 9:29 am for a fire alarm at Arcadia at Limerick Pointe. June 18: We had a busy and exciting morning planned for our Fire Camp kids!
The Cadet group went off-site to Trinley Park to learn from the LFD Water Rescue Team. They practiced throwing rope bags, explored the rescue boats, learned about boat operation safety, and created a movable control point using webbing and carabiners. Reported Vehicle Rescue on Ridge Pike

At 2:49 pm on June 17, the department was dispatched to a reported vehicle rescue after an accident at the Limerick Crossing Shopping Center on Ridge Pike. One occupant was reported to be trapped in her vehicle. Rescue 51, Squad 51, Deputy 51, Trappe Engine 77, and Fire Police from 51 and 77 responded, as well as EMS and Limerick Police units. 2025 Youth Firefighter Camp: Day 1

On June 16, the Limerick Fire Department kicked off its 11th annual Youth Firefighter Camp!
We were excited to welcome approximately 160 campers for a fun-filled week of hands-on firefighting activities and learning experiences.

Engine 51 Arrives!

We ordered our Engine on June 28, 2022. Finally, after 3 years, the Limerick Fire Dept took delivery of the new Engine 51 (aka “Casper”)! It arrived officially on June 9, and we are excited!
It is a 2025 E-One Cyclone Pumper. It has a 1500 GPM Hale Qmax pump with 780 gallons of water, 1200’ of 5” supply line, 600’ of 2.5”, and 900’ of 1.75” attack line.
